Now that the PlayStation Store has been restored Sony have released the Welcome Back pack for all PSN account holders who held an account before it went down during April. The Welcome Back pack includes free PS3 games, PSP games, PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Home, Qriocity Music Unlimited, and 3 free Movies. Sony will also be offering a years free identity theft protection insurance policy soon. We decided, as so many of you are finding the Welcome Back pack confusing, to create this post to help you all.

- If you have a PS3 you can choose two PS3 games from a list of five to have for free, forever. The games will be downloaded to your PS3.
- If you have a PSP you can choose two PSP games from a list of four to have for free, forever. Again, the games will be downloaded to your PSP. This means if you have a PS3 and a PSP you get four free games in total.
- Everyone will receive 30 days of PlayStation Plus for free. If you’re an existing PS+ member then you will receive 60 days of Plus for free.
- Everyone will receive 3 movie rentals from the PlayStation Store for free.

Geek Base’s Ultimate Guide to PlayStation Move
PlayStation Move launches in just two days for the UK and US (unless you live in mainland Europe, in which case your probably sat reading this with your Move controller already in your hand) and we at Geek Base decided to create the ultimate guide to PlayStation Move to give our readers more information on the new gaming device you will soon own. Have a look through the information below and if you have any questions then feel free to ask by commenting!
Requirements
You will need a PlayStation 3 (any model works fine), a PlayStation Eye, a PlayStation Move controller and a game that is Move compatible. For the best possible experience we recommend buying two Move controllers and a navigation controller. The navigation controller is very similar to a normal PlayStation 3 controller but with a new design thats more comfortable to use when playing motion games. However, the navigation controller isn’t a must-have, you can use a normal DUALSHOCK 3 controller instead. Also, most games don’t require the navigation controller so if you are short for money then you can leave it out of your order.
Hardware Available
Below is a list of what will be available at launch:
- PlayStation Move Motion controller (RRP: £34.99)
- PlayStation Eye (RRP: £24.99)
- PlayStation Move Navigation controller (RRP: £24.99)
- PlayStation Move Charging Station (RRP: £24.99)
- PlayStation Move Shooting Attachment (RRP: £12.99)
Also available on launch day will be a PlayStation Move Starter Kit that has a RRP of £49.99. The Starter Kit includes a PlayStation Eye, PlayStation Move controller and a Starter Disc packed with demos (for those who aren’t getting the Starter Kit all the demos are available on the PlayStation Store to download for free). I would also like to add that most places sell the Move controller for £29.99 and the Navigation controller for £17.99. You can also probably find the PlayStation Eye quite cheap pre-owned now as its been out a while.
Sony have also created a bundle that comes with a 320GB PS3 Slim, DUALSHOCK 3 controller, Move controller, PlayStation Eye and the Starter Disc for a very reasonable price of £284.99.

PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 released today!
Today Sony have released the latest firmware update for the PlayStation 3 (3.41). You can download this by using the ‘System Update’ feature on the PlayStation 3 or download the update off the PlayStation website on a PC.
The new firmware is only a minor update and the only notable improvement is an update to the PlayStation Store.
Next time you access the Store you will be greeted with a “You May Like” section. The new section will display Playstation Store items which are popular with other PlayStation Network users.
Not a huge update but we still welcome it as it does improves the consoles Store and our user experience.
